Cambelts

The cambelt (or timing belt) is essentially a belt with teeth on it that synchronises your engine’s camshaft and crankshaft as they rotate. Over time your cambelt wears down and can eventually snap – this can cause very serious and sometimes unfixable damage to your engine. That’s why you should always get your cambelt replaced at the manufacturer’s recommended intervals – this tends to be around 60,000 miles but varies depending on the manufacturer.
